A 2019 Lac du Bonnet region real estate market outlook.
Cam Harland took over John Angus Realty from the business’s namesake two years ago. Harland now runs the business along with fellow broker Kevin Edwards.
Discover Lac du Bonnet: What’s the market outlook this year?
Cam Harland: Lac du Bonnet’s 2019 real estate market is highly active compared to last year, a sign that the economy is doing well and the area is as lively as ever with both cottagers and homeowners.
DLdB: How does that compare to last year? CH: Last year was challenging economically in the mid-range price category. Interest rates are stable now and on we go. The phone is ringing steady and it’s already busier than last year.
DLdB: Why do you love Lac du Bonnet so much?
CH: I discovered Lac du Bonnet when my family bought a cottage here when I was six. I grew to love it so much that I’m now a full-time resident and took over three summers ago as the proud new owner of John Angus Realty. I love to work alongside my fellow real estate broker Kevin Edwards.
DLdB: What’s your favourite part of your job?
CH: Although dealing in waterfront properties is a big passion for me, we also specialize in town properties, back lots, commercial land and agricultural land as well. When I joined John Angus Realty six years ago, I brought with me a lot of agricultural knowledge, having worked as a grain and cattle buyer. Since then we’ve brought a number of transactions to a close for a lot of people in agriculture. The cottage and residential markets had a strong year in 2018 as well and we expect that to continue into 2019.
